St Paul's Newsletter: Thursday 22 July, 2021
2021 St Paul's Newsletter - Term 3, Week 2
From the Principal
Dear Families,
We find ourselves once again in lockdown and Remote and Flexible Learning is certainly not our preferred mode of education. As adults we know that our children and students look up to and rely on us. We are the ones who need to put on the brave face and positive mindset despite what we may be feeling inside at times. To help us do this, it is really important that, as adults, we also look after ourselves. We must take the time to do something we like doing or that we know is beneficial to our own wellbeing each day. It could be as simple as putting on the headphones and going for a walk, jumping on a Zoom call with friends, or watching a favourite movie or series!
Thanks for your continued understanding, cooperation, flexibility and support throughout Remote and Flexible Learning.
Remote and Flexible Learning Arrangements
We remain in Remote and Flexible Learning for Friday, Monday and Tuesday (subject to change of course!). With regard to Remote and Flexible Learning we strive to maintain a balance which caters for ALL family situations; parents working from home and totally unable to assist their children with learning, parents who are free to assist their children and a combination of these two situations. We acknowledge that not all we do perfectly suits all home situations. What our dedicated staff do is try to be as inclusive as possible for all of our St Paul's families. Please remember that the most important thing you can do as a parent is to provide a learning space, a device to access the learning grids and time for learning to take place. Don't forget that we also require time for recreation! I want to reassure parents that we don't expect parents to be "the teacher", we know that all parents are supporting their children as best they can. Please feel free to contact your child's class teacher for any help or clarification. Remember that teachers will not be accessible all the time, due to supervision onsite and meeting commitments. They will, however, get back to you as soon as possible.
To support remote learning next week, learning packs will need to be collected from school tomorrow afternoon from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.
As per previous lockdowns, supervision of students will only be available for students who may be vulnerable or children of authorised workers, where there is no adult supervision available at home. An Operoo eForm will be sent out today to ascertain the number of students that require supervision.
Please note the following arrangements for St Paul's over the coming days:
- Friday 23 July - 9:00am Google Meets for all students. Learning Pack Collection from Classrooms 12:00pm - 2:00pm
- Sunday 25 July - At approximately 4:00pm Remote Learning Grids will published to Remote Learning Website. Parents notified via email and SZApp.
- Monday 26 July & Tuesday 27 July - 9:00am Google Meets for all students. Remote and Flexible Learning for all students, with the exception of students who may be vulnerable or children of permitted workers.
- Wednesday 28 July - Return to onsite learning (subject to Government advice).
Our School Office will continue to be open from 8:30am - 3:00pm each week day.
